Convert AVIF to JPG Online Free

AVIF is one of the newest image formats. Websites and some Android phones use it because it makes very small files, but many photo editors, office programs, and older devices still cannot open it.

Converting AVIF to JPG gives you a file that works everywhere, from email attachments to printing kiosks. Choose the quality, pick a background colour for any transparent areas, and convert as many files as you need at once.

If your browser cannot show AVIF images itself, the converter loads its own AVIF decoder automatically, so the conversion still works.

  • No sign-up or watermark
  • Processed in your browser
  • Batch convert to ZIP

Any format works here, not only AVIF. See all formats in the Image Converter.

  • Transparency Kept

PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and ICO keep see-through areas. JPG and BMP get the background colour you choose.

  • Private by Design

Images are converted in your browser and never uploaded. Photo metadata such as GPS location can be removed.

  • Quality Control

Choose the quality for JPG, WebP, and AVIF, and see how much smaller or larger each file becomes.

  • Free, No Watermark

No sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how often you convert.

One Converter for Every Image Format

Phones, cameras, websites, and design apps all use different image formats. Instead of a separate tool for every pair, ToolCube converts any supported format to any other in one place: open an iPhone HEIC and save a JPG, turn a logo PNG into an ICO favicon, or shrink a large PNG into a WebP for your website.

Fast and Safe on Your Own Device

The conversion runs in a background process inside your browser, so the page stays responsive even with large photos and long batches. Decoders for formats such as HEIC, AVIF, and TIFF load only when you need them, and nothing is ever sent to a server.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about converting AVIF to JPG.

Why won't my computer open AVIF files?

AVIF was finalised in 2019, and many programs have not added support yet, especially older versions of Windows, Photoshop, and office software. JPG is supported almost everywhere.

Will the JPG be much bigger than the AVIF?

Usually yes. AVIF compresses about twice as well as JPG, so the same picture as a JPG can be two to three times larger.

Do I lose quality converting AVIF to JPG?

There is a small additional loss, as with any conversion between lossy formats. At quality 90 it is not noticeable for normal viewing.
