1. Introduction and Who We Are
ToolCube (“ToolCube”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a website that offers free online tools, such as an image resizer, image cropper, image converter, and PDF splitter. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit the website, how it is used, and the choices you have.
You can reach us at any time at toolcube.help@gmail.com. By using the website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Your files stay on your device. The images and PDF files you use with our tools are opened and processed locally in your web browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we do not store, view, or share them. The results are created in your browser's memory and saved to your device only when you download them. Files are removed from memory when you remove them, reload the page, or close the tab.
No accounts. Our tools do not need an account or sign-up, so we do not ask for your name, email address, or password to use them.
Emails you send us. If you write to us, for example through the form on our Contact page, the message is sent from your own email app. We receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and we use it only to reply to you. The contact form itself does not send or store anything.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, some technical information is collected automatically when you visit our pages. This can include:
- your browser type and version, operating system, and device type;
- the pages you visit, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit;
- your IP address, which can show your approximate region (not your exact location).
This information is collected by our hosting provider in standard server logs, and, if enabled, by analytics and advertising services described below. It is used to deliver the website, keep it secure, fix problems, understand how the website is used, and, where advertising is shown, to serve and measure ads. It does not include the contents of your files.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
To keep our tools free, we may show ads provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices. If you are in Europe, you can also use www.youronlinechoices.eu.
To learn more, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent through a consent message before personalized ads are shown or non-essential cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that consent message.
6. Analytics
We may use an analytics service, such as Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics, to understand how many people visit the website, which pages and tools they use, and how the website performs. Analytics services collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the device and browser you use, and your approximate region. They do not receive the contents of your files.
You can limit analytics by:
- blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings;
- using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, where Google Analytics is used;
- turning on your browser's tracking protection or “Do Not Track” settings, or using a content blocker;
- declining analytics cookies in the consent message, where one is shown.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel, which delivers our pages and processes the technical information described above on our behalf. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
Advertising. If ads are shown, Google and its advertising partners process information as described in the advertising section and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Open-source code. Our tools use open-source libraries, such as pdf.js and pdf-lib for PDF files. They are served from our own website and run in your browser; they do not send your files anywhere. A list of these libraries and their licences is available at /licenses/README.txt.
External links. Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.
8. Data Retention and Security
We do not keep your files, because they are never sent to us. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are stored for a limited time according to its standard practices and then deleted. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and handle your request, and you can ask us to delete them.
The website is served over a secure HTTPS connection and uses security headers that limit which other websites our pages can connect to. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep the information we handle to the minimum needed to run the website.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your personal information;
- object to or restrict how we use your information;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, for personalized ads).
EEA and UK users (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights listed above under the General Data Protection Regulation, plus the right to data portability and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We process information to run and secure the website (our legitimate interests) and, for personalized ads and non-essential cookies, with your consent.
California users (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. If personalized ads are shown, the use of advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under California law. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: you can opt out by using Google Ads Settings, by turning on Global Privacy Control in a browser that supports it, or by emailing us. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How to use your rights
Email us at toolcube.help@gmail.com and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your request before acting on it, and we will reply within the time required by law. Because we do not collect your files or run user accounts, we usually hold very little information about you, often only an email you sent us.
10. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new tools, analytics, or advertising. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check this page from time to time.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to use your privacy rights, email us at toolcube.help@gmail.com or use our Contact page.
