Resize JPG, PNG, and WebP Images
ToolCube works with the most common image formats on the web. Resize JPG photos from your camera or phone, resize PNG graphics and screenshots, or resize WebP images for faster web pages. Every image keeps its original format.
Resize Images Without Losing Quality
Making an image smaller with this online photo resizer keeps it sharp, because the image is scaled down in stages with high-quality smoothing. PNG output is lossless, and JPG and WebP are saved at a high quality that keeps photos looking sharp. Enlarging an image cannot add detail that was not in the original, so very large increases may look soft.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about resizing images with ToolCube.
Is this image resizer completely free?
Yes. ToolCube's Image Resizer is free to use, with no hidden fees, subscriptions, or watermarks on your images.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can resize images right away without signing up or providing any personal information.
Which image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Each resized image keeps its original format. A few browsers cannot create WebP files; in that case, WebP images are saved as JPG.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes. You can add up to 20 images at a time. The same resize settings are applied to every image, and each image keeps its own proportions when the aspect ratio is locked.
Will resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp, although fine detail is reduced along with the pixel count. Enlarging an image cannot add new detail, so big increases may look soft. JPG and WebP files are saved at a high quality that keeps photos sharp, and PNG output is always lossless.
Can I maintain the original aspect ratio?
Yes. The aspect ratio lock is on by default. When you change the width, the height updates automatically, and vice versa. If you unlock it and enter a different shape, the whole image is fitted inside the new size without being stretched, and the empty space is filled with white for JPG or left transparent for PNG and WebP.
Can I resize an image to an exact file size, such as 50 KB?
Yes. Turn on Target File Size and enter the size in KB or MB. Each image is saved at exactly that size. The tool first adjusts the quality; if the image is still too large at the dimensions you chose, it reduces the dimensions until the image fits. If the image needs less space than the target, empty data that viewers ignore is added so the file still matches the exact size.
Can I resize images using inches or centimeters?
Yes. You can resize in pixels, inches, centimeters, millimeters, or percentages. Physical sizes are converted to pixels using the DPI setting, which is 300 DPI by default and suits most printing. The DPI value is also saved in JPG and PNG files.
How can I reduce an image's file size?
Make the dimensions smaller, or turn on Target File Size and enter the size you need in KB or MB. The tool shows the original size, the new size, and the space saved.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing and compression happens in your web browser using your device's own processing power. Your images are not sent to our servers or to any third-party service.
Can I resize images on my mobile phone?
Yes. The image resizer works in modern mobile browsers on Android and iOS, as well as on tablets and computers. Very large images may take longer to process on older phones.
How do I download multiple resized images?
After resizing, click Download All as ZIP to save every resized image in one ZIP file. You can also download any image on its own using the download button next to it in the list.
What is the maximum supported image size?
Each uploaded image can be up to 20 MB. To keep your browser stable, resized images can be up to 10,000 pixels on each side and up to 50 megapixels in total.
